2026年2月15日(日)より、阿寒アートギャラリー&アートギフトショップにて谷原佐智 個展『KAMUY：Dreaming of the Future Sky ―未来の空を夢見るカムイ―』が開催されます。

道東には多くの野生動物が棲息しているが、ヒトの営みの影で傷付き、空に帰れなくなったカムイがいる。
ここでは、再び翔ぶことを夢見る「空のカムイ」の心を映像・写真・詩で幻想的に表現し、現代人に真の共生とは何かを問う。
アイヌがカムイ・ユカラ(神謡)を通して、ヒトと自然のより良い関係へ導く教訓をカムイの視点から語り継いできたように、傷付いた空のカムイのまなざしを持って、今一度、人間中心の現代社会を見つめ直す—その一つの契機になることを願う。

アイヌは⾃然現象や動物、道具に「カムイ」が宿ると考え、カムイノミ(カムイへの祈り)を捧げながら、⾃然の恩恵への感謝と敬意を忘れずに⽣きてきた。
⻑きに渡り、⾃然と調和して暮らしてきたアイヌが築き上げた世界観は、現代社会が直⾯している「ヒトと⾃然との不協和」を修復する重要な⽷⼝になるのではないかと考え、本展⽰に⾄った。

アーティストの⾕原 佐智は、アイヌ伝承が残る聖地や阿寒・⼆⾵⾕・⽩⽼などのコタンを訪れ、アイヌの⾃然観や⽂化を学んできた。
本展では、ヒトと⾃然が真に共⽣する世界の再⽣について、アイヌのコスモロジーを通して考えることをテーマに、映像詩と写真を展⽰する。

谷原 佐智 Sachi TANIHARA
東京藝術大学 博士
パリ第８大学 造形美術科修士、映画科学士
北アイルランド最北のラスリン島や南フランスのカマルグでの野生動物との出会い、またパリ天文台での天文物理学の学びを経て、芸術とコスモロジーが融合した“有機的アートの再生”についてパリ大学で研究し、国内外でインターメディア作品を創作してきた。

From Sunday, February 15, 2026, the Akan Art Gallery & Art Gift Shop will present a solo exhibition by Sachi Tanihara,
“KAMUY: Dreaming of the Future Sky.”

Eastern Hokkaido is home to a rich diversity of wildlife. Yet, in the shadow of human activity, there are Kamuy—spiritual beings—who have been injured and are no longer able to return to the sky.
This exhibition presents, through video, photography, and poetry, an ethereal portrayal of the heart of the “Sky Kamuy” who dreams of flying once more. It invites contemporary audiences to reflect on the true meaning of coexistence.
Just as the Ainu people have long passed down teachings through Kamuy Yukar (divine epics), conveying guidance toward harmonious relationships between humans and nature from the perspective of the Kamuy, this exhibition encourages viewers to re-examine our human-centered modern society through the wounded gaze of the Sky Kamuy—hoping to offer one opportunity for reflection and renewal.
The Ainu believe that Kamuy dwell within natural phenomena, animals, and even tools. Through Kamuy-nomi (prayers to the Kamuy), they have lived with gratitude and reverence for the blessings of nature.
The worldview cultivated by the Ainu—who lived in harmony with nature over countless generations—may offer an essential key to repairing the growing dissonance between humans and nature faced by modern society today. This belief forms the foundation of the exhibition.
Artist Sachi Tanihara has visited sacred sites and kotan (Ainu settlements) in regions such as Akan, Nibutani, and Shiraoi, studying Ainu perspectives on nature and culture.
Through video poetry and photography, this exhibition explores the regeneration of a world in which humans and nature truly coexist, viewed through the lens of Ainu cosmology.

Artist Profile
Sachi TANIHARA
Ph.D., Tokyo University of the Arts
M.A. in Fine Arts, Université Paris 8
B.A. in Film Studies
After encounters with wildlife on Rathlin Island in Northern Ireland and in the Camargue region of southern France, as well as studies in astrophysics at the Paris Observatory, Tanihara pursued research at Paris universities on the regeneration of “organic art,” where art and cosmology converge. She has since created intermedia works exhibited both in Japan and internationally.
