「阿寒の森 間伐材アート展 2026」

豊かな阿寒湖畔の自然は、一財前田一歩園財団が所有・管理する森林保全活動によって守られています。間伐（かんばつ）とは、密生した木々を間引いて光や風を取り込み、健全な森を育むための大切な作業です。適切な間伐によって森林のCO₂吸収力が高まり、将来にわたる持続可能な環境保全に寄与します。

「阿寒の森 間伐材アート展 2026」では、間伐によって生まれた間伐材を素材に、阿寒湖周辺で活躍する新進気鋭のアーティストたちが創作したインスタレーションやオブジェを展示します。前田一歩園財団の協力のもと開催する本展は、昨年に続く第3回目。木の質感や形状を活かした多彩な表現を通じて、間伐材の新たな可能性と森づくりの意義を感じていただけます。ぜひご来館ください。

【Lake-Akan Forest Thinning‐Wood Art Exhibition 2026】

The lush natural landscape around Lake Akanko is preserved through the forest management efforts of the Maeda Ippōen Foundation. Thinning—selectively removing trees to open up the canopy—is essential for promoting healthy forest growth, improving air circulation, and increasing the forest’s capacity to absorb CO₂.

Now in its third year, the Akanko Forest Thinning‐Wood Art Exhibition transforms the leftover thinning timber into works of art. Emerging artists from the Akanko region have been invited, with the full support of the Maeda Ippōen Foundation, to create installations and sculptures that celebrate the texture, form, and potential of thinning wood. Through these pieces, visitors are invited to explore new creative possibilities of natural materials and gain a deeper appreciation for sustainable forestry practices.
